She loves to dance :)

I love these pictures ffrom Carly's dance classes.  I hated that they only lasted a month.  She had such a good time :)

But I' not sure she likes the tights...haha!

1st dance class

Carly went to her first ballet class tonight.  She was excited until we got there and then she didn't know what to think.  She spent most of the time sitting in that chair.
But she liked watching the other kids.
And occasionally she would stand up and try a move.
But when Ms. Shawna got the lea's out she was all about it.
Well, for a minute and then she went back to her chair.
Yes, it took her a while but she finally decided to join in!

And this is what she did as soon as we got home.  Gotta love that dirty little ballet dancer!

Kittens, Kittens and MORE Kittens!!!

About a year ago Carly and I went to get a kitten.  We ended up with 2.  She fell in love with one and I fell in love with another, so we gotr both :)  Needless to say I don't realize those 2 cats would multiply by 8.  That's right.  Now we have 16...2 Mommas and 14 babies!  Holy Cow!  Oh how Carly loves them!!!
We brought the out of the garage for the first time and Lily kept taking them back in one at a time.
Carly didn't like that very much.  She kept trying to hold them down.
But it didn't help.  Eveytime Lilly would run off with one she would yell, "No, Kitty Cat NO!  You bring my kitty back!"

Dora and Diego

Dora and Diego visited Mesker Park Zoo so Jeanette and I took the kiddos.  Both Carly and Carter love Diego.  You couldn't tell though because neither of them would get close.  (I don't have any pics of Carly with the characters.  They are on Jeanette's camera.  Bummer!)  But the kids had fun anyway!  I think our favorite part was watching the monkeys.  They were crazy!  Most of the other animals were jsut lazing around.  I guess it was too hot.

SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!! Mother's Day 2011

We've been keeping a BIG secret for a while!
What better day to share than Mother's Day!

SurPrISe!!!!

That's right Carly is going to be a big sister in November!  And we've been keeping it a secret since the beginning of April.  How exciting!  I think my heart doubled in size when I saw the pink line!

Rainy Day Fun--April 2011

It may have rained and rained and rained but don't think we didn't have fun!  In fact playing in rain puddles is about as fun as it gets...at least for a 2 year old!  And what else is all that rain good for?  MUD!!!!  Yep, Carly was a pretty happy little girl.

Too cute not to share...

I just love the pictures in this post.  They just make me smile.  This is the morning Carly insisted on pouring her bowl of Cheerios on her own.  She was successful but left a big mess.
Oh, poor Gabby!  I have to admit, I love this little dog!  Mud and all...I just love her.  And so does Carly.  During a late night tornado watch I grabbed Carly, her blankie and Gabby and headed to my cousin's basement.  It wasn't until the next morning I noticed her missing.  I checked our bags, the truck, the house, called my cousin...nothing.  Where was she?!?!?!  I was so sad.  I saw her as I was pulling out of the diveway and this is what she looked like.  Isn't she cute?  Luckily, she looked as good as new (or as good as she did before the tornado) after a bath.
And these pictures are just too cute.  Her first time with corn on the cob.  YUMMY!!!!!
I <3 those eyes

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

Easter is one of my favorite holidays.  I love how it's starts to warm up outside and we get to play in the sunshine for hours!  Carly was exeptionally happy when she awoke Easter morning.  Who wouldn't ahve been?  The Easter Bunny was good to her this year.

We had to cancel our annual Easter Egg Hunt that my Aunt Joy and Uncle Pat started last year.  The were flooded in and we would ahve had to take a boat to get there.  So, our family got together at the church.  Carly and her cousins had a good time jumping off the ramp.  While the adults laughed and laughed about how fearless she was acting.  They said it was a flashback to when I was little.  Me...I was gathering my things because I was certain I'd be making a trip to the ER.  Just kidding, but honeslty I'm shocked she didn't get hurt!  I love the holidays with a little one around :)

April showers, and showers, and showers!

Although the flood of 2011 did not effect me directly it was sad to see how the rising waters were damaging houses and running people out of their homes. It also brought back memories of the 1997 flood. I was in high school at the time and of course living at home with my parents in Stanley. During the 97 flood, Stanley was completely surrounded with water. The only way out was by boat. Which is one of the reasons school was cancelled for two weeks. For me these two weeks were filled with friends and four wheelers. We thought it was so neat that we could ride four wheelers on the road without risking getting caught by the cops. So, thats what we did the majority of the time. We also took a couple boat rides into town to shop and meet up with other friends. Chrissy and I even stayed the night at mammaw's and had a few friends over there.
Here are some pictures of flood waters in Stanley this year. The water did not get as high as they did in 97'. Although most of the roads in Stanley were flooded there was still one way to get to town. It took me forever to get a picture of Carly near the flood water. She was scared to death to get near it and I couldn't be happier about that!
