Mom -n- Me Monday

These pictures were taken Friday afternoon when we went to the park with Ginger and her cousins. There was an older lady who generously donated some bread to the kids. Carly would throw it but could never actually make it into the lake. And the ducks never got close to us, but we still had a good time.

Couldn't find a hairbow to match this...

I grabbed the wrong hairbow this morning so Carly had to garage sale without one. It didn't kill her...but a hairbow sure has a way to top off any outfit. When we got home Carly and I were dying to go out and play so we changed into tank tops and ran out...still, no hairbow. But I couldn't find one to match this.....

Carly's New Kittens

I've thought about getting Carly a kittty for a while, but always second guess it. Then yesterday there was an ad in the school paper for free kittens. I just couldn't get them off my mind. Today I went to get one.....and came home with 2. Oh, my! What was I thinking? Really, I like having them around. Carly really likes them and I think Lacey does too. Having them around Lacey is my biggest fear. I don't want Lacey to feel left out. But I think she's going to be OK.

Carly has messed with those poor little kittens all afternoon. She's pushed them around the kitchen in a cardboard box, rode them in her little car and drug them around all over the place. If they can survive the first few days I'm certain they'll be around awhile. HAHA!

Carly calling for the kittens, "kitty cat!"

This kitty had been playing with Carly's shoe!

Mother's Day 2010

Any day I get to spend with Carly is a good day. It brought tears to my eyes when Carly gave me my Mother's Day gift on Thursday afternoon. When I picked her up from daycare she was carrying a bag for me. It was so sweet. You've gotta love those little hands!
On Sunday we went to my aunt's to celebrate Mother's Day with the entire family. As you can see...the dirt pile was a big hit.
Who doesn't like playing in dirt?
Jeanette and I had a good time riding the kids on the wiggle racers. Too bad there weren't two...I'm sure Carly and I would have blown them in the dust.
What a crew! The boys always have such a good time together. It's going to be scary when the kids (and trucks) get bigger. Good thing I have a girl! HAHA!! I'm sure she'll be right in the middle of everything..not that I was...I'm just sayin'!!!

Carly didn't like riding with the boys. Guess I'm a better driver!
Man she thinks she's big. Her feet wouldn't even come close to touching the pedal, but she sure enjoyed pretending! Now, this is cute!

The one thing that I am most proud of is being Carly's Mom. I have such a hard time explaining how much she means to me. She truly is my life. I have loved her since I found out she was in my belly. I loved her through the morning sickness, the flutters, the kicks, and the tumbles, the heartburn. My heart melted the first time I heard hers beating. My eyes filled with tears the first time I heard her cry. I world lit up the first time I saw her screaming face. But that love grows deeper everyday. She means the world to me.

Fortunately, Carly isn't the only reason I get to celebrate Mother's Day. I have a great mom who doesn't get rewarded enough. She has always went out of her way to give us everything we have ever wanted. She never stops and never slows down...although she really needs to. Some of my favorite memories growing up are playing softball and mom towing us all around and cheering on the sidelines. She's always been my biggest fan. I just hope someday Carly can say that I have been as good a mother as she has always been. I know it wasn't always easy to raise me, but I'm sure Mom loved every minute. Isn't that right, Mom?

Laundry...UGH!!

It's been a looong, busy few days and my pile of laundry has grown 3xs it's normal size. I think Carly is even sick of looking at it because she moved the dirty clothes from the bathroom and bedroom into one pile and then headed to the laundry room. Can you guess what I'm going to be doing tomorrow?

Little Things Thursday

I took these pictures a few days ago and have been saving them specifically for "Little Things Thursday." We have a double window in our living room looking out front. One of my favorite things to do is hold Carly early in the morning while she drinks her first sippy cup of milk and look out at the sunlight. As I was looking out the other day I noticed this little hand print...PRICELESS. That night I decided I better take a picture of it because I know it won't be there forever and I never want to forget it. (However, I won't be able to take it off anytime soon.)

Giggle Monster

Carly has been a hoot tonight. It was hard to put her to bed, she was so giggly and full of smiles. We were sitting together on the couch and she would just start cracking up...at nothing. Wonder what was going through her mind? But I made myself put her to bed so she's not fussy in the morning. And much to my surprise, it wasn't even a fight. After I got a few hugs and kisses, I laid her down and gave her her baby doll and she was fine. I heard her playing a little in her crib but she was fast asleep.

Here are some pics from earlier this afternoon. She's been pushing Lacey around in her little car. How adorable!! I put Lacey in there yesterday and Carly loved it, an dof course she wanted to take her for another ride today. Lacey pretty much jumps right on in. It is the cutest thing!!

The BIG 3-0!

Well, you hear so many people complaining about getting older...but what's the big deal. Today I celebrated my 30th birthday without an ounce of regret. In fact, when I look back on the last couple of years it's easy to see that they have been the best years of my life...and I've had some good ones. Honestly, I don't feel any older than I did 5 years ago...young at heart, I guess. haha

Jason had a small "surprise" get together to help me celebrate and that was fun. I say "surprise" because I accidentally found out about a week ago! But he did good! I spent most of the time watching the kids play in water puddles and didn't get the chance to visit with the adults much...but I still enjoyed it. Afterall, there is nothing that gives me more pleasure than watching Carly smile and giggle. She seemed to have a good time playing with "the boys" (the ones who were in town) and Ms. Olivia. Too bad my sister and brother couldn't be here with their kiddos, but they were both out of town. It wasn't the same without them around.
Houston was so cute...he would crack up everytime he hit the puddle!
And then Carly decided she'd give it a shot.
...she was a pretty nice shot!
I think she likes this birthday stuff!
