Spring Break Day 3...Easter Sunday

This was the best Easter that we have had in a long time. For as long as I can remember it's been pretty cold. But this year it was beautiful! It was a great day to visit with great family. Carly loved being outside. During the Egg Hunt she just walked around...she could care less about the eggs but loved watching the other kids. She did manage to pick up a few here and there. I have to say, I think she was adorable. We started off the day with Carly's 1st Egg Hunt at my Uncle Pat and Aunt Joy's. It was so nice of them to have the entire Coomes' family over. I am so glad they did! Thank you!

Then we went to my Aunt Carol Kay and Uncle Steve's. We got to eat outside and the kids played, played, played. They ran around the yard, dug in the dirt and played with the trucks. Carly started feeling bad...allergies, I guess...and we came home before the Egg Hunt. But fromm pictures it looked like fun and I'm sure Carly would have love it. Thanks Carol Kay and Steve for having us over.

The Easter Bunny knew Carly was really sleepy on Easter morning so he decided to bring her presents later in the day. He brought her all kinds of stuff while she was taking a nap, but she didn't see it until later that night because she slept for so long. She was so excited when she saw what he had left her and headed right to the car. She LOVES it!!! She played and played and played...and would have played some more, but I made her go to bed. She started to walk around in her sleep and didn't fight me at all when I started to get her ready for bed. But first thing the next morning she was in the car agian!

Spring Break Day 2....Shopping in Nashville

Today Carly and I went on a shopping trip to Nashville with Jeanette, Katie, Carter and Olivia. We had such a good time. People thought I was nuts for taking Carly along with me, but she seemed to have a good time. She loved playing in Pottery Barn Kids, she danced in the cart almost the entire time we were in TJ Maxx, and, she seemed to enjoy strolling around Opry Mills Mall. Jeanette and I took our youngins' to the aquarium to see the stingrays. Carly did ok at first but when one came our of the water to see us, she started to cry. Bless her heart! She dd begin to warm up to them before we left and made her way to the tank where she could see them through the glass. I really enjoyed spending time with Jeanette, Katie and the kids. We stayed longer than we had planned but we found some good deals and came home with a truck load and a half of goodies...and I really mean a half. We had to meet my Chrissy at the mall and send our first round of stuff home with her.

Spring Break Day 1...A Day at the Park

Today was the start of spring break!! Carly and I celebrated by meeting all our buddies at the park. First I tried to get her picture taken with the Easter Bunny but she clung tightly to me when we got near him so we headed to the park instead. It was so nice there. Carly played and played and so did the rest of the kiddos. Hanging out my best friends...Jeanette, Chrissy, Katie and their kiddos are some of my favorite days. We ordered a pizza and had it delivered to the park. This was Carly's first picnic and I have really been looking forward to it. Hopefully we can fit at least one more in this week! After playing for about four hours Carly seemed to be walking in her sleep so I took that as my sign to head home. Later that night Carly and I dyed 10 Easter Eggs...not one survived. She had fun but is obviously too young to be given Easter egg dye. She tried to eat it with and spoon and later picked up the cup and tried to drink it, spilling all over her and the kitchen floor.

She also kept banging the egg on her high chair or throwing it on the floor for Lacey, who was carrying them around the house. I have to say that this was a huge mess.....but lots of fun!

(: Warm Weather Welcome :)

Carly and I spent the entire afternoon and most of the evening outside. I put the spring cushions and wreath on the front porch and got the flower beds and pots ready for planting. It's afternoons like this that leave me counting down the days until summer vacation. I love my job but can't wait to spend my days with Carly. We have about 9 weeks before school is out, but tomorrow is the beginning of our spring break. The weather forecast looks nice so I plan to spend most of the week outside with my little sidekick.

This afternoon Lacey after our neighbor's dog who was across the street, which is a big no-no. When I was fussing at her and getting her back into the house, Carly was shaking her finger and saying no-no... looks like Lacey has two girls looking out for her!
