Carly has been battling ear infections on and off since November so we went to see an ear, nose and throat specialist, who recommended tubes. I was expecting this after ear infection #3. Luckily, she hasn't had any nfections the last few weeks but has been holding fluid in her ear. In fact, every time we have went to the doctor since November her ears were either infected or full of fluid. It was beginning to affect her hearing, so tubes were the best option.
I have been dreading today. I knew it was going to be hard. I couldn't stand that she was going to be taken away from me in order to have the surgery. I kept imagining her screaming and crying down the hallway after she was peeled away from me. Glad it didn't turn out that way! Carly was such a big girl! The nurse came into the room a few times before they took her off to surgery and Carly quickly began to warm up to her. When she came to get her to take her to surgery Carly went...with no tears. It broke my heart...but I managed to hold it together as well. (and Mammaw did too) The time went by so quickly! Once mom and I sat down and began talking...it was over. The hardest part was when I could her her crying and calling for me from recovery. Luckily she wasn't in there long either. She's been such a trooper!!!
